Touching hearts by offering support and hope to caregivers and their families

A Touch of Hope Ministries exists for the purpose of offering support and hope to caregivers and their families.

It is our mission to address the issues confronting our churches and communities of faith as they face the challenges associated with families contending with the arduous task of caregiving, disability, chronic pain, suffering, plus terminal and debilitating illnesses, via the use of support groups, online counseling, webinars, conferences, materials and resource information.

Our Team

Dr. Tom and Dawn Randall

Founders of A Touch of Hope Ministries

Dr. Tom and Dawn Randall are the founders of A Touch of Hope Ministries. Presently they direct the Phoenix office from their home in Gilbert, Arizona. Their ministry has extended over 43 years, primarily involving pastoral counseling, crisis care and oversight of family ministries. Dawn was a licensed medical technologist. She has been physically disabled since 1991 and contends with chronic pain and immobility issues. Through their experience and research the book entitled Caregivers: The Unsung Heroes of Our Day was published.

Marjie Randall

Administrator and Educator

Marjie Randall brings her administrative skills, teaching credentials and her personal experience of growing up as a caregiver to her own mother. She is a child daycare administrator, children’s summer camp director and administrator of the National Office in Vancouver.

Dr. Al Johnston

Pastor and Grief Counselor

Dr. Al Johnston brings his experience as a pastor and grief counselor to the ATOHM counseling team. After sharing the pastoral ministry with his wife of 45 years, Al released her into the hands of our Lord. Now remarried, he and Trisha reside in the Vancouver WA area where he serves as a hospice chaplain and grief coach to numerous families.

Dr. Beth Gioia

Pastoral Counselor

Dr. Beth Gioia (joya) holds a PhD with an emphasis in Family Psychology. Beth has been a professor in the Behavioral Sciences for over 20 years and presently practices in Arizona as a pastoral counselor at the office she founded, Gold Canyon Counseling. She is married to Rev. John Gioia. Because of her own battle with chronic pain for the past 30+ years and the realization of God’s love and grace through the gift of suffering, she is able to focus on the power of love, and offer encouragement, hope and support to families contending with chronic issues and caregiving.

Dave Marcy

Software Engineer

Dave Marcy brings computer skills and the personal experience of caring for his parents during their final years while living with him and his wife. Dave is retired from a 43-year career of writing, maintaining, and managing business application software, the last 35 years of which was with Wycliffe Bible Translators at their Wycliffe USA office.

Thank you Tom and Dawn Randall for the Caregivers course. When I heard of your group I was broken, overwhelmed and angry. I couldn't figure out why God was punishing us so much. What did we do so wrong? Not only that, my other half was more angry and not in a good place. By sharing your story and teaching this group I have learned that God loves and has so much faith in me. I'm still unsure as to the reason why God allowed my love to be so sick but I am understanding more as to why I have been chosen to take care of him. God has a special place for the caregivers and you helped me see that. Your group opened my mind and heart. I used what I was learning with my sweetheart and saw it help him.
